I don't really know what to say about the race today...
I was, to say it bluntly, disappointed. Probably was since qualifying...
As an Oscar Piastri truther, it was the worst weekend in a long time. Shitty qualifying, starting on 9th, bottling the start, followed by an immediate crash into the wall. All really disappointing. Especially with the fact that I haven't had this bad of an experience in over a year.
Something truly was in the air of Baku, and it wasn't good. Especially not for McLaren. (The team, AGAIN, failing the Pitstop of Lando was just the cherry on top. At least Oscar couldn't bathe it out this time! ദ്ദി˙ ᴗ ˙ ). What a shitshow. One car out, the other on P7. Not something that should have have happened to the championship contenders.)
Furthermore, the Ferraris are not impressing anyone or anything. And I say this with love to the team. I am one of the few lucky Ferrari fans who can appreciate heartbreak every season, since years. The car just is not good, and I feel like every race just shows that more and more. At some point, it can not be the drivers.
Still there was some good to this race. Max, again, showed off his excelent drive and talent by gaining another win. And a beautiful one at that. This was his weekend from front to back. George as well, was able to show an amazing drive and perseverance. Through sickness, he drove to a lovely P2. Carlos, I feel like I don't even need to mention. What he did today was a masterclass. I had an amazing time watching him. The P3 was truly deserved. Proud of Carlos and of Williams who only seem to get better with every year.
Lots of ups and downs. Thankfully, the race is finished now, and we can stay excited for a lovely grand prix in Singapore.
