been spending a lot of time lately going on walks every evening. sometimes around my neighborhood, usually at a public park near where I live that has some nature trails. it's meditative, gets me out of my house, lets me either think about things or avoid thinking for a bit. I don't tend to run into other people at the nature park due to the fact that I often stay after dark and avoid the main paved trail network in favor of the smaller secondary ones. as such I often bring my vhs-c camera to catch the sights and the oddities out there. I lack the cables needed to rip them to my computer at this time, but I would like to create compilation videos in the future. occasionally I take a friend or my dog on these walks, but I prefer going alone so I can think somewhere quiet and walk at my own pace. after nearly a decade of regular therapy sessions, this is the one particularly helpful device or routine I've acquired.

note: if you walk down the trail behind me for 45 minutes with a bluetooth speaker I think you're an asshole. don't do that!!! let me listen to the cicadas bro!!!
Pockets Contents

left to right, top to bottom:
- PSP - I use this thing as a glorified mp3 player. I do have some games on it, but I usually just use it for music. there are about 10 albums on it at any given time, I rotate through them every now and again.
- Sharpie - in case I need it. I haven't ever really needed it, but I used to work in a research lab and having a sharpie in your pocket becomes habit so I've become kind of compulsive about it.
- Flashlight + batteries - I often end up hiking after dark. the woods at night without a flashlight are not for the weak. I saw a guy in a slenderman costume on the nature trail one time and it kind of stuck with me.
- Lighter - lighter. this one's another habitual thing.
- Inhaler - get a load of this guy, his airways don't work right!
- Keys - play "guess what vehicle nuke drives", winner gets absolutely nothing. the snoopy bit connects to a lanyard that I have hanging on a nail in my house so I don't lose my keys. I am very liable to lose my keys.
- Wallet + chain - one of my first leatherworking projects from 2-3 years ago. my technical skills have improved a lot in the time since, but I love this thing dearly. wonderful reminder of how far I've come.
- Pocket knife - incredibly angsty design as I've had this since I was 12-13. the blade is etched with "zombie killer". it's that severe. really solid little thing though, I've had to use it more than once to peel weird alt right stickers off of nature trail bridges. I guess the real zombies were the patriotfront wackjobs all along.
