It was my birthday!! + Fitness goals

I just had my birthday party the 14th, and I'm so happy and proud of myself! I'm happy about how I changed as a person and made it to the big 18, especially after worrying about whether I'll make it to that age or not. Here's what happened on that day!

Mini-golf

My sisters, cousin, and I went back to the mini-golf place I went to in the summer with my other family for a rematch. My oldest sister and I were neck to neck by one point, but she won the round.

Dinner and cake

We picked up dinner while we were out and brung it back home. I chose this place we've never tried before; it's a soup dumpling spot, and I kind of just ordered one of everything on the chef's specialties menu, so that led us to having:

  • Pork/Chicken soup dumplings (of course!)
  • Pork and shrimp steamed dumplings
  • Pork and vegetable wontons in a delicious peanut sauce that had a bit of spice to it
  • DELICIOUS pork pan-fried buns (The bun itself reminded me of pillowy pizza dough)
  • Beef stir-fried noodles
  • Crunchy noodles with chicken and sauce (Probably my least favorite, but it's probably an acquired taste)

The food was super tasty, and for the cake, I wanted to have the Nothing Bundt Cake carrot cake again. This time, though, I think I got the ick from the pineapple pieces inside. Sure, it was still good, but the texture from the pineapple just threw me the wrong way.

Gifts

I got a lot of gifts this year, and I love each and every one of them!

  • Very soft blanket (I get cold easily)
  • Loads of bohemian-styled earrings
  • Two bracelets
  • A set with a tumbler cup, a candle, and a pouch (which I already filled with art supplies)
  • Black western boots (still has to arrive by mail)
  • Polka dot bedsheet set
  • Electric shaver (Works wonders, but I'm trying to grow my hair out for the winter)
  • 4-pack vanilla milkshake-themed lip balm set

I'm not sure if I forgot anything, but I'm super grateful for my gifts! I had a blast that day.

Fitness goals

Lately, I've been thinking about starting to strength train, since I can't do a push-up to save my life, lol. I took the time to start doing research and even had my first workout yesterday morning, but I'm thinking into the future a little bit. I'm really just doing bodyweight exercises at home and seeing where the wind takes me, but from what I've read, bodyweight exercises with little to no equipment can only take you so far with progressive overload.

I know everyone in the fitness space talks about making your workouts harder over time to make progress, and I'm aiming to do that too. But to anyone who knows more about exercise, would it be unhelpful if I reached my goals and just stopped adding progressive overload to my routine (AKA, will I lose strength if I just stopped making my workouts harder and by simply working in the same intensity)? There's not a lot of info about "intentional plateauing" on the Internet, so input is appreciated!
