it seems like we've forgotten lately that we don't get to choose who lives and who dies. not when kids are being shot in their classrooms, not when the assassination of public figures is seen as the solution, not when police are on the streets acting as judge, jury, and executioner. every side thinks theyre right. we've allowed ourselves to think we can weigh the worth of others, but the moment we start deciding who "deserves" to live, we've abandoned our humanity, our humility, and our conscience. we're not gods but we've stopped acting like human beings

we forgot we're not gods

I agree mostly, but not in the case of criminals. If somebody has killed an "innocent" on purpose then they deserve to die. We're humans and it is in our hands to keep our society peaceful and home for all living beings, forgiving such criminals isn't in our hands but it is upto god.

forget what. remember *what*.
you merely argue what goes beyond the describtion of the world as it is, advocating for what it should be, rather. your plea to 'remember' our shared humanity is *in the face of* systems that are inherently designed to 'forget' it.
you speak of a world opposant of the power that is for now, the very foundational order of ours.
youre right. i get that its idealistic, but the alternative feels like im surrending myself to the way things are. our systems are insidious, destructive by design. cynicism might feel like seeing clearly but its just another kind of resignation. this cant be the only option. all i can do is hope
