some thoughts about my dog

i have a lil girl, a shih tzu, she’s tiny. super gentle, cautious, shy, so so sweet

i used to have a hamster. it’s not around anymore, but when it was, my dog was jealous of it. every time we did anything near it she’d start licking her mouth, trying to get our attention, messing around like "hey look at me instead!"

she’d lick her lips and i always wondered.. could this tiny shih tzu baby, with the survival instincts of a fart, actually hunt a hamster?? like if she could, what would she even do?

today we were on the terrace and we saw this cat carrying a mouse it hunted in its mouth. my dog was walking around too. and guess what? a bit later, she shows up carrying something in her mouth - the same mouse

how did she even take it from the cat? is that what she would’ve done with the hamster too??
