the place i live passed this phone law stating phones cant be used in school . I didnt think Id be this would hurt me so much . ive only had it for almost 4 years now. i remember bragging about how i wasnt attached to my phone like everyone else was (i didnt get mine until i became a teenager while everyone else had theirs in elementary haha) but now i am Too attached. all my friends are behind a screen , i cant socialize as well as i used to and the thought of it Scares me now! (i blame covid 💔) i dont want to have to deal with people irl. i used to be such a social butterfly but now everytime i talk to someone it hurts my chest so much . yet people constantly try to convince me that its so easy to just walk up to someone and befriend them . The thought of it scares me a lot , but maybe theyre right!!! not like i have the balls to do that though

during my school days in the UK we weren’t actually allowed phones at all through both primary and highschool , i totally get the feeling of being uneasy around people irl as i grew up around the internet ALOTT as well ^^ the best way you can do things is to take small steps in introducing yourself to others . finding people who can relate to you or have similar interests is a great start to understanding better communication offline !! considering you probably don’t have uniforms (hopefully) you could find someone with a style you like and maybe try small compliments to introduce yourself , that’s what helped me develop more confidence in meeting people irl , hope things work out for you though ! :)
ive always wanted to speak to someone first . ive seen so many cool people!!im just too shy haha ^^;;; total me problem i can hopefully fix . oneday..... but thank you so much!!

I didnt get my phone until I reached hs! I'm chronically online but I try not to let that get in the way of socially interacting with ppl irl. If you have friends (or make friends), definitely take them out for lunch or something. Small things like that pushes you away from your phone :]
woah. thank you for the advice!! do you have any tips on not letting the chronically online-ness get to me as well? haha

They passed that law where I lived a few years ago as well. At first it was living hell but here’s a tip: A lot of your teachers won’t care if you’re not using it in a disruptive way
my principal made a whole video talking about this law . he said teachers and administration would take it if it was being used at all..but i hope youll be right as time goes on!
