today during photography class we went to visit a small church and its cemetery. it’s one of those lesser-known places, more like a historical site - a building no one ever talks about, but one i always look at from the tram window. turns out it has a rich history and is apparently one of a kind, but walking through it felt more like going on an urbex trip
there was dust everywhere, cracks in the walls, and somewhere deeper in the cemetery, homeless people live. our guide told us they don’t clean the place on purpose, to let it symbolize the abandonment of culture
but one thing caught my attention - the ivy. so much of it. it covered almost the entire ground, climbing over old, forgotten graves.
the place had such a strange, striking atmosphere. the ivy is beautiful, but looking at it makes your mind wander: how long must it have taken for this much to grow? why did people abandon this place, let it decay so badly? is human power really nothing compared to the force of nature?

nature was the foundation for all human activities. maybe what allowed us to exist will eventually take that away, one way or another. i really liked this blog
