Yap about Superman (2025)

A couple days ago I went to see the new Superman movie with my dad. I wasn't planning on seeing it until a day before the showing at my theatre, the movie wasn't really on my radar until it came out (I've unfortunately always been more of a MCU guy) But, after seeing a lot of positive reviews and my friend gushing to me about how I need to go see it, I did!

Long story short, Great Movie.

Long story long, I really loved a lot of aspects of the movie, it felt very self contained in that it actually tells a full story without overloading the audience with things happening and also had a very pertinent message for the current times without being overly preachy. The movie also did a really good job of setting up a further movie series and building good audience rapport with the new iteration of Superman - reparing his image after the god awful Synder movies. I actually really liked the goofiness of the movie, it's very refreshing to have a nice goofy superhero that isnt super edgy, save the edgyness for Batman. I think the strongest impact of the movie though is it's portrayal of positive masculinity, in a culture where the most talked about men are agressive, evil to women, and are focused on domination - it's beautiful to see a character who's often known as the pinnicale of masculine strength promote kindness and hope. I really truly hope this has a positive impact on young men and boys.

anyways theres my yap, its not super well written but I just wanted to get my thoughts out lol
