Life update

It’s been a while since I gave an update on how life is going so I think it’s time to do so .

(1)Those elusive UK summer holidays are still over a week off. How late the school holidays start in the UK is the only bad thing I have experienced about living here because other than that my life has been great since I came here.

(2) I am talking to my dad again but only on the phone and online. I don’t feel ready to meet him face to face (which is not likely to happen anyway since he’s in America and I’m in the UK). He says that he’s changed and I want so much to believe him but,after all he’s done,trust doesn’t come so easily. One hopeful sign is that when I introduced him to Andrea (my girlfriend)online he seemed to like her and expressed how happy he is for me. (That’s huge because when I lived in America he wouldn’t let me have a girlfriend and said that I was “a perverted little POS” just for having normal human desires).

(3)Life’s going great for mom too. She has a new boyfriend. He’s the head chef at a local restaurant. I’ve met the guy and he seems ok. I understand that he was abit uneasy about meeting me at first. (Apparently he was concerned that the fact my mom has a kid could make things difficult). We got on well and we had a day out together one Sunday,just the two of us,to get to know each other properly (that was actually my mom’s idea) and by the end of the day we were great friends. (I hope that once mom’s divorce is final she marries him because having him for a step dad would be so cool. He really is a great guy).
