Look, I’m not saying I’ve got my life together, but I did just go to a grocery store and didn’t cry in the produce aisle—so I think that counts as character development.
Today, I made soup. Not the sad kind made from instant noodles and shame, but actual soup. With ingredients. From a store. That I paid for. With money. Let that sink in.
đź›’ Step 1: Ingredients for Functional People
-
1 carton of organic chicken broth (because I’m bougie now)
-
2 chicken breasts (no, I didn’t steal them)
-
1 pack of ramen noodles (a tribute to my roots)
-
Bok choy (because it looked cool)
-
Chili oil (because I like pain)
-
Garlic, because obviously
-
Self-worth (optional, still working on it)
🔥 Step 2: Cooking Without Setting Off the Fire Alarm
-
I chopped things. I didn’t cut myself. Huge win.
-
I boiled the broth and added garlic like I was on a cooking show.
-
Chicken in. Noodles in. Bok choy in. Drama: out.
-
I added chili oil like I was mad at someone. Spicy regret incoming.
🍽️ Step 3: Eat Like You Deserve Good Things
I plated it (well, "bowled" it), took a photo for Instagram, and ate it while watching some weird cooking anime.
It tasted... amazing.
Almost like I’m allowed to enjoy things now...
🧠Final Thoughts from Noah
I used to think soup was just survival food. But maybe it can be comfort too.
Sometimes life doesn’t suck. Sometimes it’s warm broth and quiet music.
And sometimes, it’s just soup—but it’s your soup.
That counts.
