Jak II - My Favorite Game

The first game I remember playing is Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy. Me and my cousin would play it for hours, and simply exploring the map and uncovering a new world was something magical at the time. Sadly, the sequel was rated T, and I wouldn't be allowed to play "T" rated games until I was 11 years old. By then, I completely forgot about the Jak and Daxter sequels, until I stumbled upon them on YouTube a couple years later.

At 13 years old I started playing Jak 2, which to this day is my favorite video game of all time. I love everything about it. The map, which is like if a urban fortress was made up of several entirely unique districts. The gameplay. The jetboard. The edgy story, that balances comedy with action with romance flawlessly. The memories of taking it over to friends houses (despite the game already being 7 years old at the time). And all these things just working together is why I never get over it.

After completing the trilogy, I created a Jak and Daxter fan account on YouTube, started the Jak and Daxter Community on Google+, and obsessed over Jak and Daxter AMVs. This series, alongside a few other games, got me through middle school. But, without any new games coming out, the fanbase has really died off.

That being said, I still playthough Jak 2 fairly often, and am quite comfortable with how the series ended. There was a movement around 2012 titled simply "We want Jak 4 made by NaughtyDog" on YouTube. However, they split up after some members no longer trusted NaughtyDog with the IP. For me, I much rather continue replaying Jak 2, and see games like Sly Cooper make a comeback as it literally ended on a pretty insane cliffhanger.

On YouTube my playthrough of Jak 2 is pretty old and poor quality, but I also played through Jak 3 and Jak X if you're interested (simply click on the title to be brought to a YouTube playlist). I also made an edit from Jak and Daxter clips here

I guess I'll end this post with asking you, what's your favorite video game and why?
