The start of snowboarding season consistently brings the same set of challenges to the table, and I am consistently unable to best them for the first month or so. As of this morning, I'm right on target for ticking all my pre-season boxes.
Going out of my way to pack everything I need for a day at the mountain, only to forget something crucial, like my après ski slippers, or my season pass.
✔️
Scouring my muscle memory databanks on the first chairlift of the season for how to offload like a cool guy, and ultimately flailing my way down the ramp like a freshly decapitated chicken.
✔️
Preparing lunch at home so I don't spent a fortune in the lodge, and hours later deciding I'd rather grab delicious food and nineteen beers at the bar instead of eating whatever dogshit poor people gruel I poured into my thermos that morning.
✔️
Reaching for my insulated lunch bag several days later while making yet another meal I'm destined to neglect, only to realize I never pulled it out of my car after the last trip, and that my thermos has turned into a fucking penicillin terrarium.
