I recently went on site for a day, 07:30--16:30 on the 3rd.
I went on-site with a company called Paveaways for a trial day as part of a Stage 2 interview process to hopefully try and secure an apprenticeship.
I think it went well since I have done work experience with them before. The person I was teamed with that day was Barry (A bricklayer I've worked with before), so that was brilliant, haven't seen him in ages lol, great guy. missed his humour.
I filled in a doorway with blocks, managed to fill it most of the way before the end of the day, was so upset I couldn't finish it (Only like 4 courses away from filling it completely), ended up doing 14 courses. It was fun, and I enjoyed the fact that I had a physical thing that I did at the end of the day to show for my efforts.
I personally think it went well, and even if I don't get the apprenticeship, I still had fun, put effort in, did what I could, gained a bit more experience, and I enjoyed it.
Fingers crossed they think it went well as much as I did lol.
Update: They did not. They turned me down, which is fine, but when I emailed them back asking for feedback and areas for improvement, they completely ignored me. Which sucks, personally.
Update 2: After emailing a few more times, they finally got back to me. They said I needed more experience, which is fine, but I did experience every Monday for 3 - 4 months with them, but oh well.
