Hello today i went to my grandfather's funeral and after we went to have a little lunch dinner thing with my family and a family member brought a bunch of blueberries from their farm, and like i mean a BUNCH. like call me pete the cat cause i was about to love my blue shoes. But anyways, they gave us a bag of blueberries to take home and while we were hanging out i noticed there was something bright green in the bag, lo and behold it was a SPIDER!!!
Naturally, as the smart individual i am, i immediately went and reached my hand in the bag to try and get it out. And then my mom grabbed my arm and was like, 'dude, its bright green theres no way thats not poisonous' or whatever (and shes right, most spiders are venomous, but whatever) And i was like okay fine. I then decided i was going to go speak to this family member about it and see if this was a common happening.
I then learned this spider is called an 'Orb spider' as he referred to it, and that it could not hurt me, so then i again tried to reach my hand into this spider inhabited bag of blueberries at the table, forgetting my aunt was terribly afraid of them. So then i was shooed outside and fought this spider out of this bag, which took a lot because he kept crawling on different blueberries whenever i got the one he was on. But eventually i got him and i walked all the way through this wet muddy yard (in fancy attire- since i was at a funeral an hour before) and to the car to grab my camera, and i didnt even get a good shot of it but instead sent my friend a video of this guy climbing all over my hand.
So now that you've heard the backstory of this maybe you can understand why i found this spider so cool, but this spider i have now learned is called a Crab Spider! My family member mentioned that he believes they are attracted to the chemicals on the blueberries, but i also think blueberry farms are probably just insect filled, though it does seem common to find these exact ones in blueberries according to the web.

These spiders are ambush predators! So not like the typical spider that waits around in a web for its prey, this bugger attacks its food and injects it with venom, which is so cool. Im not really sure if this guy even spins web at all, some crab spiders have some sick ass webs though and i'm sure some species look similar so i'm not embarrassed enough about spreading miss-information to the four people on my close friends instagram story.
All in all a cool insect is really what i needed today, my grandfather loved nature so much and he spread that love to me in a way, so having something so random as finding a cool insect in a bag of blueberries was what i needed to know that he will always be with me in his own way.
