sewing dreams... and other fashion fixations

I recently got into gyaru fashion (himegyaru and rokku gyaru being favs), and it makes me want to start upcycling my clothes and reallyyyy sewing. I know how to sew, and have a few unfinished projects, but I don't have the fabrics n such for what I want to do. 

AND JOANN'S CLOSED????

How am I meant to live my fashion dreams in these conditionss?!?! Of course I could thrift or buy on shein and whatnot, but I'm really big on ethical buying and doing it myself where I can. I don't want to waste the clothes I have for even more clothes, and I don't want to contribute to the overall waste issue happening with clothing because of trends. I'll have to look and see if there's another fabric store nearby or start smashin' clothes together. 

I don't mind long sewing projects, or exercising creativity with how the end up, but a lot of my clothes don't seem to be the right materials. I have so many sketches and ideas, I'm picturing the patterns and pinning in my heart, but I simply can't execute them because of the lack of proper resources. I'll have to make do with what I have but it's safe to say I'm heartbroken. 

And!! All my sewing projects, tools, sketches are in storage T^T. I'm off-campus and I'm an out-of-state student so I couldn't bring everything home with me and it is so incredibly tragic. I'll just have to keep sketching and dreaming for now, but if I get to sew y'all will be the first to know.
