12.04.2021--Worst Part About Working In A Hospital

MISINFORMATION IS DEADLY

I was at work today and I usually work every third weekend in the ICU. Today I was cleaning the rooms and I saw a family friend in there. She has COVID. And she is in the same room as the guy I saw die last Friday...also from COVID. I didn't know about this and it was a horrible way to find out. She is unvaccinated and totally anti-mask and believed all of the QAnon "plandemic" conspiracies. We had to distance ourselves from her this past year because of how reckless she has been during this pandemic. We all feel weird and off now, and I am hoping I can talk to her tomorrow to get some words from her before its too late and she takes a turn for the worst and has to be put into a coma. She hasn't been intubated yet and she has been in there for a few days now. But I've seen how fast unvaccinated patients decline health wise. We care about her still and we are praying she makes it through, cause most ICU COVID patients don't live past the third week. It hits different when you work in a hospital and you see someone you know in critical condition.

I’m sorry to hear that mate, that sounds genuinely distressing… I haven’t yet run into any QAnon believers in my field, but I always worry I’ll run into it one day. Wishing you and all involved parties well
