My fathers cousin Gregg shot himself in his car with his wife next to him a few days ago. Found out his band had released an album, one of the songs talking about a letter my nene had sent him while he was Originally deployed in 1991. The song details how he resonated with my grandfather for fighting in Vietnam. Not good resonated. More like realizing how fucked up they both were. He had extremely severe survivors guilt, and re-inlisted. Came back with a terrible drinking problem, something that befalls most Parks men. Him and his wife were separating over the past few months. He invited her on a drive to talk. She asked why he started drinking again. They stopped at a gas station where he went in for a pack of cigarettes. Came back out and got into the car. It was quiet for a moment before he told her to tell the kids he loved them, before he shot himself in the drivers seat next to her.

Clark woman smoke, Parks men drink. Almost like it’s some sick curse on my family.
