You text quickly, angling your phone away. You set your phone down and got up to go to the bathroom, curious I checked who you were texting, I knew he thought I didn't know his password, but I do.
My heart fell to my stomach as I read the messages. He came out a shocked expression plastered on his face as mine rose to fury. Curiosity Killed the Cat.
...
Wheres dad? I asked again and again. Met with lies and mores. She finally told me prison. Prison? My dad was In prison? She wouldn't tell me why so I searched it up, my gut wrenching at my discoveries. Never able to see him as the innocent loving father again. Curiosity killed the cat.
...
I grabbed a bag of chips, hungry, my mom stopped and questioned how many calories were in it. I started looking more and more at how many calories foods had, and how I could lose weight. Eventually just not eating because i was scared to gain. Curiosity killed the Cat.
If only I just kept on, not searching his phone, not finding out why my own dad was in prison, not obsessing over my calorie intact excessively. I'd be smiling, happy, blissful. But that's not what I care to be with the price of clueless.
I'd rather hurt then not know, id rather cry then you fail to tell me you didn't like me from the start.
I'd rather be wounded then sheltered from the truth.
Curiosity killed the Cat, but then again cats have nine lives.
