Took my first stats exam today. It ended up taking twice as long as it should have because I painstakingly write out all of my equations in LATEX. I have this nasty habit of fudging equations with my calculator (it's so easy to leave off a parenthesis...) so I hedge my bets by showing how the equations are set up so I'll get the majority of the credit in the case of a mistake.
Case in point, on the last problem I ended up with a ridiculously large margin of error. Think, -7.8 +/- 22. This made no sense until, after five minutes of trying to figure it out, I realized that I'd forgotten to take the square root in the very first step. -7.8 +/- 6.6. Much more realistic.
But, now I'm sitting here feeling like I left the stove on because I don't know if there's anything similar that I might have missed. I always double-check my calculations, but I get weird blind spots that tend to be recurring
Now, onto the econ exam on Wednesday....
