how do people find new music?

I feel so left out sometimes when comes to music, Spotify's weekly discovery has been carrying me but I used to try and find music by browsing but I can never find any that I enjoy. I think I'm mostly attracted to smaller bands, like flight patterns (Go check them out they're amazing) so it only makes it harder to find those kinds of bands. I just sometimes want to be in a niche and feel like I've discovered something great that everyone hasn't found yet, is that weird?

the best advice i can give you is to use these two methods:
- ask friends or people online! they can recommend you some good stuff!
- just keep searching! It doesn’t matter if you don’t like what you listen to, you can always search based on what you don’t want to listen to! For example if i don’t like a certain band, i can just search a band with a total different sound!!

No ofc that’s not weird! Theres this really fun feature on Spotify where you can search up a song and play it, and press the shuffle button. After the song finishes it’ll start playing you music that’s similar to that song. I don’t know if this works with just normal Spotify or just Spotify premium but it’s been so helpful in helping me find new music that’s a similar vibe to the music I’m listening to
