Watched - Conan O'Brien Must Go Season 2

Yeah season 2. I do not think I reviewed the first season, but what I say here applies to the first, which I watched last year.

Conan O'Brien Must Go Season 2 Key Art

Background

I was, aware that late night and talk shows exist, but I never was particularly interested in them. I think I recorded one or two episodes from Jimmy Kimmel on TV, but that kind of TV never caught my interest compared to YouTube. Way before I knew of talk shows, I was unknowingly encountering them watching Youtube Rewinds, and tucked in the middle of the 2014 Rewind, was one Conan O'Brien. Years later I would find his remotes on Youtube, and he would become my first and only talk show I ever tuned into. Well, for as much as someone can who no longer watched TV nor had a streaming service.

Thoughts

There really is not much for me say here. Its good, and gets better the more you have been watching Conan's content from before. It is just more Conan Without Borders, which in itself was great from clips alone. However, experiencing the 2nd (and 1st) season in full is something magical. You never want to look away for a long period of time, always itching to rewind a funny moment. Yeah, I may have been working or doing something else while this plays, since I did not know when else I was gonna find the time to watch it standalone. On the bright side, it just proves how much drawing power Conan has, and the multitasking personally helped me when certain moments felt a tad awkward, but that is also on-brand. There really only is two major problems I have. The first being the aforementioned newcomer problem. Some jokes or bits may not land as hard, or may not land at all if you are not versed in Conan's brand of humor, or just not about it at all. The second issue is the episode count. Due to I believe being given the responsibility of the Oscar's opening ceremony, plus the recent death of his parents, This season had its number of episodes be reduced by one. A shame, but thankfully a third season has been renewed.

Recommendation

Yes, and unless you do not jive with his humor, can't afford or access the show on HBO Max/MAX/etc., or want to check out his other content first, I would not pass up on this show.
