I did another unimportant thing I regret. I was, without prior notice, invited to attend a punk show with my friend, and so we went. I took a shot of cheap vodka and spat it out there in the parking lot [I don't like alcohol]. The first band did really good, and I got a photo and talked to the bassist after. The second band was great, though we didn't interact at all. The third band was amazing, and we also didn't interact. The fourth band was also amazing, and I think they were my favorite. The guitarist and the bassist joined the mosh pit. They gave my friend a pick and a set list, too. The fifth band was, again, amazing, but I mostly stood to the side with my friend who was throwing up and having a hard time breathing as his asthma decided to make an appearance. This was a few hours, mind you. Every time I was pulled into the pit, I was told to move my arms, but I felt extremely awkward so I would stop and get pushed out again. I am very rigid. My friend left, and his friend, who I'll refer to as Robyn, who drove me there, went backstage to talk to the bands. I stood in the corner and watched everything. Then, he told me to come with him, and we went to the bassist of the second band, who I'll refer to as Christie, and got in her van. There they smoked it up, and although I was offered a hit, I declined it. In that van, while my father rang my phone to no avail and I listened to these people who had only just met me but treated me as family, I felt real. I was alive. Everyone who was left socialized more. At one point, Christie thought she left her keys in the van, so Robyn climbed through the smallest window and got in, at which point Christie realized they were in the restroom. The window was no bigger than a shoe box, mind you. I was impressed. They socialized more, and then Robyn dropped me off at my room. I wanted to get a CD and a button, maybe a sticker, from the main band, but I didn't have any money. I do have a Red Bull tab from the ground, though, and memories to go with it. That's more than enough.
