-------------------------------------------------------------------

In part 1, we went over some of Katy Perry's sexual assault allegations, a few lawsuits, and now to pick up where we left off, let's talk about her never-ending pursuit of property.

In July of 2020, Katy and her fiance Orlando Bloom bought a $15 million dollar mansion in Montecito, California. They purchased it from 83-year-old disabled veteran Carl Westcott, who later changed his mind, saying he lacked the mental capacity to enter into a contract for the property. The negotiations for the property were complex, involving multiple parties -- and at the time, Westcott was suffering from severe health problems that would have affected his cognitive function. He had Huntington's disease (a degenerative brain disease), symptoms of dementia, post-operative delirium, and was under the effects of painkillers following a back surgery when he agreed to sell the property to Perry.

Westcott had only just moved into the home 2 months before Perry and Bloom set their sights on it, with the intent to live there for the rest of his life. He said that due to his age and poor health, and a major six-hour surgery less than a week before the proposed contract, it had seriously impaired his ability to give his voluntary consent. About a week after the contract was signed, Westcott said he "started to feel mentally clear again" after the opiates from his surgery wore off -- and sent a letter to the real estate agency representing the property.

Naturally, Katy did what Katy does -- and sued him.

Westcott's doctor (Dr. Gary Small) testified that he believed Westcott lacked the capacity to contract, on both July 15th and July 18th 2020, but the judge dismissed it, saying he "failed to provide a compelling explanation of how he reached that conclusion". Perry's attorney, Eric Rowen, made this statement to Rolling Stone: "This proposed decision is crystal clear -- the judge has concluded that Mr. Westcott was in full possession of his faculties when he finalized the lucrative sale of the property, which ultimately brought him a substantial profit. The evidence overwhelmingly shows that Mr. Westcott breached the contract simply because he changed his mind."

Now, there was some kerfuffle about Katy's intended use for the property. When initially showing their interest in the home, Perry and Bloom penned a letter to Westcott: "As you know, we are expecting a baby next month, and know this will be the best place to bring her home to and raise her in." They spoke of the home as a sanctuary in which they would "grow together as a family"... However, the court documents expose that the couple's true motive was not to settle down, but to cash in on rental profits.

Perry's legal team sued Westcott for an additional $6 million in "damages" for delaying their ownership of the home, citing their inability to rent the house. This argument contradicts her earlier statement that the home was intended for their personal residence.

Westcott's son told the NY Post, "Katy Perry will now have to testify, in person, to receive her 'damages'. We look forward to her testimony, and to her being confronted with possible sanctions for perjury. Perry has put herself in a box by claiming that she lost 'years of rental income' and is owed damages, which is counter to her sworn statements about wanting to live in the house. We hope Ms. Perry enjoys her pyrrhic victory, as she explains to her fans about TWICE taking homes from the elderly." Youch! He also slammed Perry's "entitled celebrity behavior", questioning why someone with her wealth and status would insist upon pursuing a multimillion-dollar lawsuit against a man who had been bedridden for well over 18 months. "If an old man apologizes and says he's made a mistake about the sale, and she's a rich pop star who can buy any other house in the world, you'd think she'd let the old man go on his way. It's entitled celebrity behavior. She has no sense of fair play, and zero empathy -- quite the opposite. The worse condition my father is in, the harsher they've been in trial. It's unfortunate to see the way her lawyers have conducted themselves -- bottom of the barrel in terms of ethics. There's no explanation for her decision other than greed."

It's also worth noting that after Westcott attempted to back out of the sale, Perry purchased a SECOND Montecito home for another $14.2 million, which she still owns. She also owns 7 other homes in Santa Barbara County. This further solidifies the question of why she was so determined to acquire Westcott's property, when there were in fact other options that did interest her.

Westcott's family also sought a subpoena which would force Orlando Bloom to appear in court as well. Perry's manager did not take kindly to this, and accused the family of "harassing Bloom", claiming they were attempting to "turn the trial into a media circus" by forcing the actor to appear. A bit odd that they'd make such a fuss, since they obviously had plenty of free time on their hands to be suing people.

Unfortunately, in December 2023, the judge decided in favor of Perry, securing for her the coveted Montecito mansion. But after wreaking all that havoc, the couple's satisfaction with the home was short-lived -- because in July of 2024, Perry stated in an interview that she and Bloom were keen on moving to London. Perhaps she found another vulnerable person to sink her talons into.

Westcott's family are now working to front the PERRY Act (Protecting Elder Realty for Retirement Years Act). Their website states: "The PERRY Act addresses the risks of elder financial abuse, especially as it relates to property and real estate sales and transfers. The act establishes a 72 hour cool-down period, during which either party involved in a contract in which one party is over the age of 75, can rescind the agreement without penalty. There are currently no laws to protect senior citizens against real estate transactions that unfairly target older individuals whose mental capacities may be compromised at the time of sale."

Financial elder abuse is a rampant issue in the US. According to the FBI, the prevalence of online fraud targeting seniors increased by 400% in recent years. The FTC also reported that in 2020, individuals aged 60 and older filed over 93,000 complaints related to fraud, with losses exceeding over $500 million.

RELATIONSHIPS:

Katy's personal relationships haven't been immune to criticism, either -- she has a history of choosing men with... questionable character, pasts and allegations of their own.

JOHNNY LEWIS -- 2005 - 2006

Though Katy (probably?) couldn't have predicted it at the time, Johnny Lewis clearly had some unresolved mental problems. He, along with both his parents, were practicing Scientologists -- and in September 2012, he bludgeoned his 81-year-old landlady and her cat to death. He then fell off (or jumped from) the roof of her house where he had been renting space. He did not survive. His autopsy report stated that he did not have any drugs or alcohol in his system that could have influenced his actions.

Lewis had also been arrested twice prior to the murder, between 2011 - 2012 -- first for hitting two men in the head with a bottle during a fight,  and the second for attempting to break into a woman's home. He pled no contest in both cases.

A probation official expressed that he was concerned about Lewis's mental stability and chemical dependency, stating that he would "continue to be a threat to any community he may reside in". Lewis was released from LA County jail just 5 days before the murder and his resulting death. Katy made no comment on the incident herself, but "a source close to her" told media outlets that she was "devastated" by his death; and also that a lot of her songs were partially inspired by him.

RUSSELL BRAND -- 2009 - 2011

Here Katy's relationship history takes a darker turn -- in 2023, the 48-year-old comedian was accused of rape, sexual assault, physical abuse, and emotional abuse. He was accused by five women, and the alleged incidents took place between 1999 and 2013 -- many of which fit neatly into the period he and Perry were together. Of the five women, one was 16 at the time of the incidents, in which she alleges Brand would send a car to collect her from school. Brand of course denied the allegations, calling them "extremely egregious and aggressive attacks". However, since the initial accusations, several women have come forward with new claims against him.

An addition, an old clip from Brand's BBC radio show "The Russell Brand Show" also resurfaced during the chaos -- in the 2007 audio clip, Brand is heard suggesting to a 15-year-old caller that she should have a sex-themed birthday party: "I suppose you’re 16, you can’t really drink booze yet, or any drugs because that’s illegal... Now, you will be legally allowed to have sexual partners. Now, I think you should theme the party around legal sex." (For context, in the U.K. the legal age of consent is 16.)

In yet another addition, Thames Valley police investigated Brand a second time after a woman contacted the department with "new information in relation to reports of harassment and stalking" -- BBC reported that this woman had previously made numerous reports against Brand to that same police department between 2018 and 2022, but no action was taken by the police at those times.

There are an additional 8 complaints that were filed by BBC employees during the time of Brand's employment, including a complaint of Brand exposing his private parts to a woman in the bathroom shortly before recording a segment in which he joked about the encounter. BBC launched a review into these incidents, and in regards to that specific one, they've said that while BBC management was unaware of it, "others in the LA office knew of it and often joked about it." The other complaints include reports of urinating into cups or bottles while in the studio, throwing objects, engaging in sexual acts while on the premises (including with competition winners), and exposing himself to staff and guests in the studio.

Most disturbingly, BBC also acknowledged that there were likely even more incidents that went unreported, as staff may have felt they would not be believed, or would be dismissed due to Brand's celebrity status.

As of 2025, the official list of charges stands as follows:

--1999: A woman claims she was raped by Brand in Bournemouth.

--2001: A woman says she was assaulted by Brand in the Westminster area of London.

--2004: A woman claims he orally raped and sexually assaulted her.

--2005: A second woman says she was also assaulted by Brand in London.

Brand pled not guilty to all charges, and trial is set to commence on June 3rd, 2026. He remains on conditional bail until that time.

This is not the only scandal Brand has been involved in -- in fact, he seems to have a habit of provoking controversy. He was fired from MTV in 2001 after he showed up to work dressed as Osama Bin Laden, the day after 9/11. He was also fired from XFM in 2002 after he read pornographic material live on air. In 2007 he made a phone call to Jimmy Saville (before his child sex abuse crimes were made public knowledge), and in this phone call, Brand said he'd "send his very attractive personal assistant to massage Saville" -- and Saville joked that she'd "have to do it naked". Brand was then fired AGAIN from BBC in 2008, after he and another comedian left a serious of inappropriate messages on Andrew Sachs's phone, sexualizing Sachs's granddaughter.

Just 2 years later in 2010, Brand married Katy Perry -- though it was short lived and he divorced her, over text, in 2012. Their wedding was attended by many other celebrities, including P Diddy. He is now married to children's author Laura Gallacher, and they have two children of their own... I don't even dare speculate about his interactions with those kids.

JOHN MAYER -- 2012, 2013-2014

So far Katy has collected a murderer and a rapist, so I guess it's par for the course to add a racist misogynist into the mix. In 2010 John Mayer gave a highly criticized interview featured in Playboy, in which he used the N-word and made some horrendously sexual comments about his ex, Jessica Simpson: “Have you ever been with a girl who made you want to quit the rest of your life? Did you ever say, ‘I want to quit my life and just f–kin’ snort you? If you charged me $10,000 to f–k you, I would start selling all my s–t just to keep f–king you.'”

Simpson addressed his comments in her 2020 memoir, confessing that she was floored and embarrassed. "He talked about me by name in the most degrading terms," she wrote.

He also had a brief fling with Taylor Swift in 2009 -- when he was 32, and she was only 19. Following their breakup, Swift wrote her song "Dear John", which includes the line "Don't you think I was too young to be messed with?" ...Seriously though, what's with these celebrity men and dating barely-legal women?

RIFF RAFF -- 2014

Keeping with the theme of sexual allegations, rapper Riff Raff has no shortage of them. Eliza Stafford claimed that Riff drugged and raped her after a show, and Kelsey Doucette said he made unwanted advances upon her while she was still a minor. As a response, Riff made a bizarre 14-minute short film starring himself titled "Trial by Media". The film co-stars entertainment lawyer Marc Lazo and filmmaker Sarah B. Downey, who each utilize rhetoric adopted by those who "find #MeToo and similar movements too harsh".

"The so-called victims are becoming the bullies," Says Lazo's character. "How can somebody say something in the media and then it's literally judge, jury, and executioner, in the media?" Says Downey. Riff also claims in the film that "the allegations are illegal", and that he "Doesn't want to have a girl drunk and sleepy".

A third incident occurred in 2014 at a Nevada brothel, where a Jane Doe accused him of sexual assault, sexual battery, false imprisonment and civil conspiracy. She was seeking $12 million for medical expenses, lost wages, and physical, emotional and psychological trauma. Despite her claims, he was never arrested or charged. His legal team accused Jane Doe of "targeting Riff Raff because she believes him to be a wealthy public figure".

According to the original complaint, Jane Doe attended a RiFF RAFF concert in Mound House, Nevada. After the show, they waited outside the venue, “hoping to meet him, because they were fans of his music.” They ultimately decided to head to the Bunny Ranch brothel adjacent to the venue, where Riff broke out lines of cocaine. The women deny participating in any illicit drug use.

Riff then started stacking money the two women had earned dancing at a bachelor party earlier that day and said, “If you want this money back, you are both going to f--k me. If you don’t, you’re not going to like what’s going to happen and you are not getting your precious money back.”

Jane Doe said they both agreed to have sex with Riff to get their money back. She also says Riff forced her to perform oral sex on DollaBillGates, saying, “B---h, do you want your money or not? Then do what you’re f--king told.” Riff denied the allegations in an official court declaration, and the lawsuit was ultimately settled for an "undisclosed amount".

Mmm.... smells like hush money.

Given that the alleged incident happened the same year he and Perry dated, it's unusual that Katy had nothing to say on the matter.

DIPLO -- 2014 - 2015

Born Thomas Wesley Pentz, this musician also has a sordid sexual history. Shelley Auguste filed a restraining order against him in 2020, in which she claimed she met Pentz online when she was 17 in 2014, and that he groomed her into exchanging sexually explicit messages. She went on to say he had filmed one of their sexual encounters without her consent and posted it to Twitter via an anonymous account. She also claimed that he later raped her in his Vegas hotel suite after a show, and knowingly infected her with chlamydia: "Diplo is a highly successful songwriter and record producer. He is also a middle-aged white man who targets very young black women and girls for sexual assault.

Once again, this strangely happened around the time Pentz and Perry were getting involved.

Pentz responded by filing his own restraining order, describing Auguste as "an obsessed fan who became vindictive when he refused to continue to see her after their sexual encounter". He basically accused Auguste of everything she had accused HIM of, right down to the revenge porn. In 2021 court records show that they reached a settlement involving restricted rights to publish information -- but Pentz demanded arbitration, claiming that Auguste continued to make social media posts.

He then sued her a week later in open court, accusing her of stalking, trespassing and revenge porn. Two months later Auguste sued him as well. In 2022, an arbitrator found that BOTH sides had violated their prior agreement -- but even though the record states both parties were found at fault, it was Pentz who was awarded $1.2 million in "damages".

Meanwhile, another woman also filed a "revenge porn" suit against Pentz; and while she wished to remain anonymous, a federal judge ruled that she must use her real name if she chooses to proceed with the suit. The Jane Doe's lawyer plans to appeal that decision. In her case, she alleges that she began communicating with Pentz over Snapchat in 2016, when she was 21 -- he was 37 at the time. According to her, they had an intimate relationship that lasted several years, and while she acknowledges that she allowed Pentz to record them having sex, she did NOT give him permission to distribute those videos to others. She says he sent the videos to others via Snapchat and over text, and a different woman had contacted her in 2023 to say that Pentz had shared the material with her in 2018.

As usual, Pentz denies any wrongdoing. His lawyer called the Jane Doe's lawsuit "an obvious shakedown attempt", saying: "Time and again, Wes has been targeted by a group of untrustworthy individuals and their unscrupulous lawyers, cobbling together falsehoods in search of a meritless payday."

------------------------------------

Damn, Katy sure knows how to pick 'em, don't she? At any rate, I thought I could get away with only doing 2 files on her, but it looks like there will have to be a part 3. There's stuff I haven't even touched on yet regarding her satanic ties, the space flight and her bizarre music video that reeks of references to Diddy parties. See you guys in the next one.
