Growing up as a little black girl in the South, this woman always played on the radio. "Party" with Andre 3000 had me in a chokehold, like the beautiful harmonization with an upbeat like. I really didn't know Beyonce till being 11-13 years old. My grandma was knee deep into conspiracy theories so yeah, "Beyonce sold her soul to the Devil so she could have all the fame today" bullshit. I did get scared of those reverse songs played back where they'd be saying some "cryptic message" about the Illuminati & just straight bullshit. Never did I feed into people's delusions but I didn't really gag over her till I watched Homecoming. She speaks of her life, going into entertainment at a pivotal age for her to be at an HBCU. It's more nuanced then what I'm saying but seeing her tear that stage apart revived a fire in me. That I fucking love dancing, especially to her music.
Renaissance dropping was the icing on the cake that solidified my appreciation for her as an artist, mother, innovator, and much more. I literally cried like I was at a funeral when watching her perform "Alien Superstar" on a TikTok live like. It's adorable how me & my sister bond over our appreciation for her artistry, especially going into "Cowboy Carter". The pride of being an American while also recognizing the struggles within this white supremacist capitalistic patriarchy. She's always made music of the times but it juxtaposes against her politics. I did get this title from watching that F.D. Signifier video cause yes, Beyonce is everything.
