music has such a strange power

i love the way music is able to make one go back in time, i remember this specific instance a few months ago where i re-listened to an album i hadnt heard in 2 years, and i was instantly thrown back in time, i could literally feel the climate my mood and thoughts all go back to one specific image/moment from 2022, all the wonder i felt listening to the album for the first time suddenly hit me again.

i was left in shock for a bit, it had been a long time since i felt something like that, i wondered if thats the same thing late stage dementia patients feel as well, all those memories surging back all at once even if just for an instant, its like time never passed beyond that point.
