Group Made Prototype: DEV LOG 3 Combining Ours Tasks

22/05/2025 Combining Ours Tasks

Every Wednesday we managed to have time to meet up and have enough time to stitch together our works. Here's how we did it. I realise now that i never exactly explained how we managed to share this gdevelop project across the whole team. We wanted to make sure there was a method where there would be no issues for more than one person to be working on the project at the same time. Thus, i created a system where i would send out an updated version of the game for everyone to workshop their task and then when we meet up it would be combined into the "master" project file (my version). 

Jack's contributions 

Jack's task was to make the programing for the power ups! Here is how it looks!

We agreed that the power up should move slower than the enemies, and that the spawn rate should be similar. I'm not completely sure of how he was able to manage this by messing around with my own spawning mechanic but I'm impressed with his work. :)

right now the power ups that do work are: 
health up: adds one missing health point
speed up: boosts points gained for 5 seconds

we also have a third power up that we didn't have enough time to add which is the decrease cooldown. 

Alyssa's contributions

I've already talked about this one but Alyssa's task was to create the the cooldown ui which was simply added by using a global variable which counts after an attack has been done. 

Alec's contributions

Alec's task was to make the soundtrack for the game. 

Currently he has only made the gameplay music, i dont think there will be time for the menu and gameover screen but it sounds great! (to hear what this sounds like play the prototype found in the "people id like to meet" section on my profile)
