I got 100%, but...

So, I took my second management exam. The exam is online, open book and open note, but only because COVID restrictions closed the testing centers.

So, I got 100%. But, I know the only reason that I did was because I had access to my book/notes. Even though I read every chapter and watched every lecture twice, so many of the questions were random and quasi-obscure rather than main points that there's no way I would have pulled out a perfect without being able to quickly check my notes.

In other words, if I were taking this class during any other time, I would be doing much worse, and I know it. Therefore, I feel like I don't deserve the 100% or the 99.78% I have in the class overall right now. Instead of being happy, I feel like a fraud. FML.

Congrats on the 100% - You do deserve it. You can think about how many people in the class went the other way because of online classes... slacking off and not engaging with the material. It would be interesting to see if the instructor shares the class grades and performance.
I agree with Kirby, you will know where to find stuff when it comes to doing the job. It will be an open book life.

Thank you for your kind words! Unfortunately, this class and my stats class don't let you see class standings. My econ class (which is also an open book/note, but by design rather than due to COVID) does, and the scores are sitting around 70%. I really do wonder what the average scores in Management and Stats are, though.

i think it's more useful to know how to find the information you need than to be able to memorize it, but i also know exactly what you mean (been KILLING it on open note tests this semester!!). one of my professors has the same style, asking seemingly random questions instead of literally anything that was actually covered, it's so frustrating. anyway good work!! even if it feels cheap, you're still putting in the effort imo

Thank you. It's challenging for me because I set my own internal standards so high. When I was a physics/math major I spent all of my time studying and my relationship with Brando really suffered because I never had time for him. I'm trying really hard to not let that happen again.
