Went to the Mall

I basically had to go cause I had $15 in hot cash that was gonna expire. I only got things at Hot Topic and Spencer's. I went into Macy's but couldn't find the clearance section so I left. Hot Topic gave me another $15 coupon. I could spend the money online, or I could break the cycle. I do really want the A Fever You Can't Sweat Out shirt though... A solid half of Hot Topic was pastel and anime stuff. I knew it was gonna be like that but usually it's only like a third of the store. Come on, we have Box Lunch for that. I don't know why they don't just carry more emo things because there's clearly a market for it. In all their comments it's "bring back the old hot topic." To be fair, they have been introducing more things like that, but they should leave selling Sabrina Carpenter and ACDC shirts to more mainstream stores.People say "it's called hot topic they keep up with the trends" but that was never really true. There were emo kids in the 2000's but it was not socially acceptable. Also the TX2 merch was there ooooo. Hot take, I actually don't mind TX2 that much. Their music isn't great and I hate the whole "goth mommy" thing that Evan used to do, but they are a bit overhated. A lot of music, even "real" scene music sounds like that.Side note: I know it's bad to buy from these places cause they're fast fashion, but I don't go that much and when I do, I actually wear the things I buy for years and don't replace my wardrobe every season. I DIY and thrift a lot too so I don't get all my clothes from these stores. Feel free to roast me anyways. I got 6 necklaces and a pack of earrings from Spencer's. I got this tank top and a red bedazzled belt from Hot Topic. Everything was on sale.

Exactly, not to mention the fact that Hot Topic originally started out as a store for goth kids, so it was always supposed to be a store for people in alternative subcultures and NOT mainstream normies the way they're trying so hard and so desperately to pander to now.

Weirdly it's not even normies that they're mostly pandering to. It's people who are "quirky" but not full on alternative.

That's exactly what I meant by the term "normies", as a generalized way of describing anyone who isn't emo, scene, goth, punk, or in any other related alternative subculture.

If you aren't in one of these subcultures, then you're a prep or a "normie".

My bad, I thought normie referred to preps.
