Really want to get to know you. Nowadays its so hard to find people who arent brainwashed by whatever TikTok trends are going on, ESPECIALLY slang trends. (Online) Language has shifted so much that I just cant help but roll my eyes whenever I see stuff like ''ts pmo'' ''slay'' ''sybau''. or whatever slang is popular these days. It bothers me despite only using YouTube, I still see these stupid words everywhere. It seems like the only way to escape it is to go offline, but guess what, EVEN THE PEOPLE I KNOW IN REAL LIFE TALK LIKE THAT. Mostly the kids at my school below my grade, but even people that are the same age as me and older. Its disgusting, I can't put my hatred for social media into words
The only requirement I have for people to be my friend is to not use social media, which is probably the reason I only have shallow ''friendships'', which is insane to me

I deleted tiktok and i dont regret that decision. i know whats going on in there from my sister, but i always come to conclusion that mostly trends are kinda repeating in cycle. im not really missing out on anything too important. also when i downloaded tiktok after taking a break from it the fact that videos are so short that i have to constantly scroll without being able to do anything else at the same time was stressing me out. i just felt kinda in hurry. now i only watch videos on youtube that are at least 15 minutes long or more. i can watch 4 hour vids without any problems. maybe my attention span has healed after spending a year without scrolling through short videos with some brainrot. i use slang mostly to not seem old and cringe like idk any new trends
I can totally relate. I was using tiktok a lot in 2022 and it just constantly made me feel like everything had to be FAST. I couldnt focus properly and had serious issues in school because of it. I'm glad I quit before I couldnt
