to be at peace is to be free

i think peace isn’t about escaping the noise. it’s more about learning to exist with it. like, the kind of peace where you’re not chasing anything. where you’re just being. not controlled, not watched. not trying to impress. just… you.

when i’m alone, the air feels different. time folds in on itself. i can breathe without adjusting myself to someone else’s rhythm. it's in those moments i realize.. being alone isn’t lonely when it’s your choice. but i’ve also been spending more time with my friends lately. we talk, we share songs, sometimes they teach me things, like how to play guitar. and when we're laughing about something stupid, the world feels less sharp. less like it’s trying to cut me.

maybe peace is just freedom. freedom to choose silence or connection. to stay, or to drift. freedom to not be perfect. sometimes i feel like i’m floating in a world too real. too loud. too much. and sometimes, in small moments, it softens. like when the sky turns pale and you forget everything for a second. and there’s just… stillness.

that’s what peace feels like, i think. not forever. but real enough to hold onto, even for a moment.

I think it's wonderful to think about this. In a world full of stress, noise and people it can be hard to find a moment of true peace. And I think you're right; it's not escape, but the lack of the fear and the urge to run away. I'm really glad you're feeling good when you're with your friends, because I think that means you're with your people. You CAN feel pure joy and you CAN withstand the storm!

Oh no, I'm so sorry!! I've recently gotten on SpaceHey and found your blogs to be really honest and very emotional. About it going downhill..., I get you. It sounds hard... I don't know what you're going through, but I do hope things look up, which I know will. If you want to talk, I'm always available :)

I agree. Peace comes from within you, how you react to the world. I admire you for coming to this conclusion!
That’s what Buddhists practice. No matter how harsh the environment, they practice peacefulness. It’s something I try to practice as well.

thank you for saying that… i’m still figuring it out, honestly. some days i feel like i’ve found peace, and other days it slips away again. but i think i’m getting closer, little by little. just trying to hold onto the moments that feel real

Being peaceful all the time takes strength. And it takes practice to build that strength. You got this 💪💪💪
