Somebody tell me why every single social media I'm currently on fucking SUCKS right now?
Youtube is full of video essays that I will forget about, Discord is fucking dry as shit, Tumblr's filled with mentally ill girlbloggers who enable harmful behaviors, Facebook's full of conservative boomers, I only go onto DeviantArt to look at tony crynight art (I know i should've gotten over him by now, but atp idk what my relationship with him is), Bluesky is boring, Instagram's boring, and tiktok is just a fucking health hazard as a whole (literally had to block it on my phone because I was spending way too much time on it to the point I was missing sleep and it was throwing off my schedule so badly to where I couldn't do anything. I might have to do the same thing with youtube at the rate I'm going at.)
And what's worse: the motherfuckers from Tiktok are migrating onto here because they "want the old internet back!!! >-<" or whatever, and are causing unnecessary drama and treating this site like any modern social media site, therefore making it the exact opposite of what the old web was like
And they wonder why this site this dead, they fucking drive people away from here by littering it with drama and excessive politics, basically ruining this site, and making it difficult for well-adjusted, non-chronically online people to actually enjoy the experience of being on here. (its social media as a whole became hell the minute we started involving politics into them)
Can we just go back to online forums and shit like WordPress? I think that would make shit so much better for our society atp.

it sucks. ill be one of the first to admit it. only social media app im addicted to is youtube, the other ones are too boring or unhealthy for me to use all that often. spacehey is dead. nobody im friends with on here messages me regularly. i dont even wnt to use it anymore because i doubt ill make meaningful friendships with anybody like me anymore. i was enthusiastic. now not so much. its weird. isnt this supposed to be like myspace, previously one of the most popular websites in the world in terms of ‘social media’??????? i get it, we live in a different time, but theres a bunch of people active. so, at this point, im starting to think all people care about is customizing their profiles and not much beyond that which is seriously a shame.

Lately, the content on YouTube has been bothering me a lot. It seems that no youtuber has their own content like they used to; they all make the same style of video with the same editing style full of memes and most of them just make reacting videos. It's very difficult to find people who make content for fun rather than what's engaging.
As for Tumblr, I have the same opinion: it's full of girls with psychological problems who, instead of seeking help, post content that is harmful and influences others to do the same. X is full of hateful content and when it's not that, it's also full of disturbed people. I've always hated Instagram, I only have it because I can give out my account instead of my personal number but I've thought about deleting my account several times anyway.
Just to add, it makes me angry how all the apps are becoming like Tiktok, they're all adding the option of short videos, basically giving up everything the app was supposed to offer and turning them all into the same thing with a dull layout and the same purposes.

I I am honest,I only hard Youtube and Spotify,and It was all It took to destroyed me,I blocked those sites and looked for some alternatives,now I listen music through my ipod mini and use this instead of Youtube.
For now It works.

SO REAL!!!!!! I'm slowly getting tired of social media, I only use Discord to talk to my friends and Insta to post my art. Lately I've only been using Pinterest and SpaceHey. (Here)
I uninstalled TikTok because it was ruining my mental health, I left Twitter because it has a very toxic community, and I only use YouTube to watch my favorite YouTubers and gameplay videos of games I like. (And sometimes to learn a new language 👋) That's it.

this is so real, actually. and what scares me is the decrease of critical skills, the decrease of forming our own opinions, not knowing our limits anymore and not respecting each other as individuals anymore. i feel like modern social medias transforms us into products, so much that we are becoming as smart and individual as milk bricks.
i am glad that i deleted all my social media accounts (except youtube but i just watch long videos) and only stays on spacehey. i dont need more : no algorithms, no competition, just freedom of creativity and sharing with a community.

So true! Also because of tiktok people have become so scared to form their own opinions and stuff because of the insane amount of hate they see other people getting! For just having different opinions and perspectives. Honestly if it stayed as a dancing app or musically it would’ve been way better, it used to be an app for dancing, having fun and for teens to express themselves now it’s I don’t even know.. and what I hate is that every app is trying to be like tiktok so we’re basically getting the same content everywhere!! No originality anymore just companies competing!! Instagram with reels and YouTube with shorts!! It’s causing most of the population to have lesser attention spans and don’t get me started with the insane amount of ads and commercials… I have tiktok myself and I don’t think we should Shame anyone for having it but it really is just that majority part of the community that’s very problematic…

i totally agree with what u wrote. i want to use this website to be able to read ppl's personal blogs like in the 2000s, with ppl just spitting what they thought with no filters. i should fr spend more time here cause idk i feel like on yt tt and insta like u said everyone is just auto censoring themselves out of the fear of their followers, i want to use spacehey just like ppl did with myspace: dumping whatever i want how i want when i want. i get so nostalgic when seeing old yt videos of ppl just talking (unedited), i don't want ppl to turn this website into some sensitive place where ppl randomly report ppl for saying stuff (unless it's hateful or politically incorrect ofc) like click away the fuckkk

The YouTube one is real.. like I'm not even sure that topic exists. What are you talking about. Why do I care about this popular streamer and their success. There's some great musicians and cover artists on there though, which is why I haven't left. It's just my music app atp.
I still use Tumblr and Pinterest because their "block" system works quite well imo. On Tumblr you just have to block a tag and then posts with that tag never show again (GREAT for getting rid of NSFW and other weird stuff) and Pinterest might be a little slow to respond at first but once it learns you don't wanna see that you don't see it (except those rare occasions (better than most either way)).

Is that why at the top of blogposts there's always some exposé post? Istg, on twitter or TikTok there's always some drama that no one cares about over the most minor thing or something that should've been handled privately. Sometimes those posts do have a valid reason to get to the top, though, but it's mostly the first or second thing.

I agree. Why is everything "cringe" now? People on tiktok are so disgusting too. Every video I see there now is about mental health (which is good, but sometimes there are some people who ROMANTICIZE it, or it is all about sex. I swear, this generation is so fucked up.

I have to agree on those youtube "essays". They used to be charming videos of people going crazy over things they like but now everyone seems to see it as an easy way to gain viewership. Especially when it comes to those stupid little mics they hold in their hands like their some professional or something. Dude...You're regurgitating information everyone can just find themselves. Unless they got some secret connections, I don't want to hear it. And they spend 10 minutes in the beginning of their videos with some quirky sketch or some long ass introduction. And I don't know why, but their tones are always all the same!
And I hate the youtubers who do video essays on whatever, whenever! Choose your passion or hobby and stick to it!

Super sorry but I may or may not have heard abt spacehey from tiktok (MOST LIKELY FROM A FRIEND) or youtube, but honestly? I don't really like tiktok all that much, and youtube is kinda... meh. I don't really have very many opinions on socials, but I will say this: Sometimes ppl on tiktok SUUUUUUCK. Especially since some of them say "ts pmo", " sybau", "tuff", "newgen", and " gooner [thing]" UNIRONICALLY. And bc some ppl are just cold and unaccepting on there, and they're always causing drama. The drama bit is even on YOUTUBE! Drama slop videos left and right with stupid captions over eyes, thumbnail arrows, and "the ___ situation is CRAZY!" titles... I'm sick of it. And ppl mostly just cause this typa drama just for money or to ruin ppl's lives! SAME WITH EXPOSE/BEWARE DOCUMENTS! Those suck sooooo bad... Tbh if drama was just solved by two people having a peaceful conversation about one of them's behaviour, everything would be alright. But hey, like they say, the world isn't all rainbows and puppies. deep sighhhh
