My childhood death wish.

I wished that I would die as a kid so that I'll go to heaven straight away, because if I grew up then my actions would have consequences that could potentially lead me to hell. Instead of wanting to work on myself and become the best version I could be, I chose the easy route of simply dying. I was willing to miss out on all the amazing things life could offer so I wouldn't have to go through any pain. I still have this mindset to a certain extent, but what I'm wondering is why i had that thought as a child, considering I had a relatively decent childhood with not much hardships. Perhaps it was the fear of the unknown. What if I get hurt? What if I become a bad person? What if I sinned? What if I will never make it to heaven? I don't know if that's a casual 10yr worry, but that's how I felt.

Childhood you was thinking logically.

Childhood you was focusing on the big picture, the pros and cons, instead of looking at what’s right in front of you.

What’s right in front of you, like how the food tastes good, how the night sky looks pretty, how your friends makes you laugh. All the little things that gives meaning to life.

When you focus on the big picture too much, you forget what’s really important.

Tbh yeah. I'm try and change that mindset from "nothing matters so it doesn't matter what I do" to "might as well enjoy what I've got" bc really ..

Despite my nihilistic way of thinking this world is genuinely beautiful. Despite all the bad things in it you still see the full moon in the sky, you still hear the sea waves crashing against the shore, you still enjoy the taste of chocolate, you still feel the cold breeze on your skin, you still laugh with your friends, you still see the pretty blue sky with fluffy white clouds, you still see the beautiful architecture, you still see how people interact with each other, you still watch the sunset and sunrise, you still look out the window of a car or a bus and see everything pass by, thebyou remember all of it is temporary
Which I think adds to how much more valuable this is, it's a unique onetime experience, and although it's sad that somethings I'll never experience again, it js makes it all the more precious

I don't think I've given myself a moment to notice these things, and through the art of noticing your whole mindset can change

Yes, the world sucks, but it's not all bad, so letting go of your grudges for this world and accepting it the way it is is somewhat liberating

(Yap session but I genuinely like this topic :3)

I like this topic too.

Ever wondered WHY these things are precious? It’s because they won’t last forever. So the fact that they are temporary IS the reason why they are so precious.

Our life is precious because we are mortal.
