I have never enjoyed cooking, like, at all. My sister was the one who always helped and asked our mom questions. I was just happy to graze on snacks all day and bury my nose in a book. Funny thing about being an adult though... Some skills you missed out on are now necessary. I actually thought tortillas would be pretty difficult at first but I ended up choosing a couple videos to follow, which I will link here:
My first attempt with the first video was pretty good! I discovered that there are no rolling pins in my house, and that tortillas need to be way thinner than I thought. Still super delicious, but definitely too thick to be a regular tortilla.
My second attempt with the tiktok looked a lot better, but. I'm almost ashamed to say, I misheard the instructions from the tiktok (should've written them down) and did not use enough butter. Like I said, they look perfect, but they don't really taste like tortillas or anything for that matter!
It really reminds me of going over to my friend's apartment in middle school, her mom didn't speak any english but she always gave me fresh, hot tortillas and would watch those really dramatic soap operas! You'd be amazed how much you can understand just by watching body language and context clues.

Fresh tortillas are the best, and telenovelas are awesome!! I used to watch a lot as as a kid over summer vacation.
I'm happy you're having fun learning new (and delicious) things.
Oh yes that's what they're called! I completely forgot lol, thank you!
