On display

Today was pretty good but I got a bit stressed at the end of the day having to be on the phone with vendors instead of doing my work, and nothing really got accomplished anyway.  So yeah a bit frustrating.  I also had 3.5 hrs of meetings today which didn't help matters.  But oh well, it's after 5, nothing I can do about it now 🤷‍♀️.  

It was really sweet my friend sent me an encouraging message just as I was getting ready to leave my office.  And my mom sent me a fundraiser my niece is participating in for her school, so I made sure to contribute and send a note with it saying I love her.  Unfortunately due to certain circumstances I don't see her much, but I'll take any opportunity to do something for her to make her life better.  I'm home now and getting ready to cook dinner.  I'm thinking garlic spaghetti. 

I got some new neighbors a couple doors down and I'm thinking about what I can do to welcome them.  I don't really know any of my neighbors.  People are very private mostly and keep to themselves, and there is a lot of turnover in these apartments.  But I'd like to connect with people and have more of a sense of community here.  The guy who lived in that apartment before used to say hi to me in the morning when I was heading to work and he was out on the balcony drinking his coffee.  I'm gonna miss that.  And then I've met several other people but then never saw them again, they moved I guess. 

The one exception, there's a guy in one of the apartments across from me who always says hello to me, and he keeps his blinds open always and puts himself "on display" for the whole neighborhood.  He's nice but yeah very open haha.  He has a lot of visitors and his voice is really loud so whenever he's talking to someone it sounds like there is some kind of altercation happening, but when I look it's just him talking normally lol.  One time he had his girlfriend over and they were doing it in the living room with the blinds open where anyone could see!  And one time he shouted at me across the parking lot, "What's your name, baby!?" So it's kind of like that.
