Grafting part 1 & a mallow update

4/16/2025 - FIRST AVOCADO SCIONS GRAFTED! I actually got 2 Mexicola Grande ?? Either the seller was feeling generous or I wasn't paying very good attention to what I was doing but either way, nice! I grafted both of these onto my neighbors avocado tree, which is a big tree but not much interested in making fruit that is nice to eat. I had to use a ladder. 

Tomorrow I will be busy BUT in the morning I will have a little bit of time where I will go to the hardware store and get 1) tree pots and 2) grafting tape. The first order of scions came prepared but the second one its,, yeah its just several short branches in a box. Leaves on and everything. But I don't want to open up the bag theyre in and trim them until I can wrap them up. Those ones are Hass. So I'll see what I can get done tomorrow but honestly I might need to wait several days bc I have some medical business coming up. 

Almost forgot: MALLOW BLOOMED! This is one of the ones that I got from the dg path in the nearby native plant garden! It's about 6-8" high? and it's blooming! I didn't expect this to happen until at LEAST next year! ok that's all I have to go file down some squash seeds.
