One of the reasons I joined spacehey was to possibly share my dreams that I have. I have been remembering all my dreams lately and thought I'd share last night's dream, even tho it was utter nonsense.
So, there I was at rehearsal for the school's musical. I'm talking to my friend that helped with my hair and makeup afterwards asking if I should bring my curling iron or not for tomorrow. I then leave but I walk back into the building to ask my professor about something. My professor was Jojo Siwa for some reason (I hate her) but then it was just a random lady with her kids running around.
I then leave the building though the basement, as I'm down there I see the creepy ghost clicker lady from Ju-On: The Grudge (2002). I bolt out of the basement and get onto the streets of campus. I walk around campus instead of going to the dorm.
Suddenly I'm a kid again going trick r' treating with my little brother and mom. My Mom picks us up and takes us up a hill where we get one single dumdum lollipop. We drive back down and suddenly we're in my town, but it wasn't my town at the same time (if that makes sense). We get out the car and suddenly were walking to the checkout of Dick's sporting goods. I was looking at the display that was clearly from spirit Halloween.
I then woke up, but fell back asleep for another hour since my 10am class was canceled.
In this second mini dream, I was in my dorm about to go to the bathroom and this guy walks into my room telling me not go go into it. I go into it anyway and see the spirits from Ju-On: The Grudge (2002) again. They weren't doing anything but standing there. I shut the door again and woke up.
And that's it. Like I said before, my dreams are utter nonsense but I do know there was some meaning of it. But there yall go, my dream from last night, See ya.

NOT JOJO SIWA. Anyway the single dumdum lollipop experience reminds me of going to the bank lmao! I wish I could've went to the movie night and had spoopy dreams to give me something to write about.

That was such an interesting dream. Definitely feels like your brain was still sorting through the emotional leftovers from the club movie night—Ju-On especially. That Onryo in the basement feels like something dragged right out of the unconscious. Classic shadow figure stuff. Makes sense that she was in the basement too—symbolically that’s where we hide the stuff we don’t wanna deal with (where-as in Japan it's the attic, because basements are uncommon there). Literally the messy subconscious represented as that prop storage.
The switch into childhood trick-or-treating feels very liminal. Like a memory, but filtered through a dream logic lens where nothing quite fits—“my town but not my town”. That kind of space, where things look familiar but don’t feel familiar, is so uncanny. It’s like your brain was slipping between registers of time and place, like trying to ground itself but not fully landing anywhere. Only getting one lollipop feels symbolic too—like there’s a longing for something that used to be fulfilling, but now feels hollow or not quite enough. It’s sweet, but there’s a sense of disappointment. Maybe nostalgia trying to soothe your fears, but not quite pulling it off.
Also, Spirit Halloween inside Dick’s is very much liminality. Two totally different energies in one place. One permanent and practical, the other temporary and chaotic. Like navigating adulthood while still being pulled to weirdness and freedom of change or identity play.
That second one was interesting too. The guy telling you not to go into the bathroom felt like a version of your own consciousness trying to shield you, and you going in anyway. Like, even when we know the reality of what there is is terrifying, we’re still drawn to look. And then the ghosts are just standing there, not attacking—just present. Almost like they’re not there to scare you, they just are. Their presence is the whole point.
Anyway, really looking forward to seeing what other dreams you get to post here.
Reading your comment has given me a bit to think about. Your breakdown of what my dream could mean makes sense in some places!
