spacehey feels different. not because "oh, its like an old website!", but because it's a place without algorithms, people trying to sell OFs, meme pages, crypto scams, or anything some famous social media like instagram or twitter would have.
it's just a place where people talk about their lives, or what they like. people here are tired of how modern social media apps work, so they treat it differently. and that's honestly beautiful.
i've been a little bit active here for a month or two i think, and i've been absolutely loving the experience of reading other people's blogs. and i'm 18, i haven't even experienced the MySpace era, which is what SpaceHey is inspired of. heck. some people even learned CSS trying to customize their profiles!
i hope this never changes, honestly.
edit: worth talking about the website outages here and then. honestly, i don't blame the creator, since this is a FREE WEBSITE that's entirely funded BY THE CREATOR AND DONATIONS. it's kinda hard for a service like that to handle an absurd amount of people.

Im glad others can notice how different SpaceHey feels. One of the things I value is here is the customisation. Companies got so invested in earning money alone that they forgot how we need to express ourselves. That's what is prioritized here and it's really refreshing to see. I'm a rather sensitive person and modern social media is overwhelming, when I just want to rest after a tiring day.
indeed! custom CSS and HTML is something i loved here. i also think this kinda made people learn these two by themselves in order to stylize their profile :)

I am 30 and I cannot express how happy I feel that so many young people are interested in a place like SpaceHey. The current state of modern social media is atrocious, and it's not healthy for a young mind to consume that.
SpaceHey is so slow-paced, which is how the internet used to be. No aggressive notifications, no ads, no algorithm to punish you if you don't upload for a while, no incentive to grow an audience, or walking on eggshells when trying to avoid "banned' words.
I have not used any popular social media since 2017. But I am finally back, because SpaceHey is exactly what I wanted all along.

They are here,but I think they avoid interacting with younger users, which is reasonable.
I personally only add +18 people as friends, but I interact with anyone through blogs. A lot of young people here need serious help or advice, and they do not have a reliable adult irl. Getting advice from another teen is basically blind leading the blind :D So I try to help when I can and when it is appropriate.

i uninstalled tiktok recently too !! i haven't really used it in over a year so i finally decided it's time to just get rid of it cause using it made me MISERABLE tbh. still saved my fav edits to my camera roll tho lol!

You're completely right. I'm tired of hours and hours of scrolling on tik tok. I won't delete it because I have friends and my girlfriend. But this feels so much better
YEAH like i still use instagram but this is waaaay more comfortable. i feel like i choose what i want to see, not the shorts-like nature of social media's algorithm
