Why do people like the Sonic movies (besides fixation)

Alrighty, complaining time.

I’ll try not to get too rant-y, but someone explain why the Sonic movies are so highly praised, without letting trends and/or fixation taint your opinion. Because I believe that the majority of the latest one’s high ratings is because of biased young people.

I’ll admit, the 3rd movie has been the best so far, but even then, I wouldn’t give it more than a 6/10, and the only reason to watch the movie is for the, admittedly, really cool action scenes, to witness orchestrated Live and Learn, or to list off all the cringe dialogue, ex. “Konnichi-whaaat?” or “I wasn’t finished trauma-dumping!”.

But eh, I guess I’m in the minority, because a lot of people are more blinded by Sonic fixation than I am, which is saying something when I’m the one that’s been mumbling the name “Knuckles” hourly. I’m glad that people can enjoy these movies so much, but I guess I’m just an old coot (17) that has to be contrarian and only play the GameCube Sonic games and only watch Sonic X. I guess the movies will get better as they add more characters to the films, because when it comes to Sonic, the more the merrier.

(Also, unrelated to the complaining, I have a theory that the 6th movie is the one where Silver will be introduced, as a reference to Sonic 06 lolll)
