Delta Final + Old Portal Maps

Dev log + Upcoming Video(?)

Salutations. I know that for the most part, I have been posting my progress on the mod to ModDB, but since I want to post about my Portal work as a whole in this post, I am writing this all here instead.

1. Updates on Delta Final
The development is nearing it's conclusion, and i'm shooting for a release for mid to late April, thank you all for your patience on this journey. I'll share with you what needs to be done to finish up the project:

* Make a model for the Antagonist
* Come up with ideas for the boss fight
* A few more tracks for the OST
* Credits and Background maps

Besides that, all 25 of the test chambers are complete. I've even made a small outside area for the ending. How the final map doesn't overflow is beyond me, and I think I might end up splitting it in two eventually, I just need to do the boss fight.

My hope is the mod is released before May

2. Old Portal work
Admittedly, I've forbidden myself from working on Delta Final today. I was supposed to work on getting more references to use as bases for 3D models and try to come up with an anime-esque style, since I can't draw well at all. (Though I do have my own personal art style I might try to bring to 3D one day).

Instead of doing any of that however, I've wasted my day being lazy and being bored. I nearly went through playing SNH again when I decided to go through some of my other maps. I recorded some footage of me doing so but my audio quality is rather poor so I'm going to re-record them and try to give my genuine thoughts on these older projects that are sorta a precursor to Delta Final but also...well it's complicated.

Wanting to make DF is what inspired me to learn Hammer. So before work on what became Delta Final began there were a lot of maps and mini-projects to learn and practice Hammer. This is how you got Subject Name Here, but there was also Fling Button (first ever map I made) and Office Job. I won't be posting them to ModDB or anything since they suck really badly, but I will be playing through them at some point and publishing a video to YouTube.

3. Going Forward
I love Portal, I love the Source Engine, I love designing these puzzles, levels, mods, etc. It's not my main passion I want to pursue though. I want to be a 3D artist. Even if I don't want to go work for any big corporation, and I don't use the most professional methods or software. At most I'd want to maybe produce a pilot for GLITCH but I'd still need a bit more training with more professional 3D software first.

Regardless, as much as I'd love to make games, I'd much prefer doing animation. That goes for most of the things Delta Final has pushed me to do.
I like making music, but it's not a primary passion of mine. I don't mind voice acting, but I know I suck and I don't really have the motivation or reason to change that.
Maybe if there was something like ps4's Dreams, but for PC and I could make money off what I make.

I do somewhat want to return to the DF timeline at some point in the future, but that would be in the form of a comic, an animation, or a one off non-canon gmod exploration map.

Anyways, thank you for listening to my rambles. I hope to update you more on my projects soon and hopefully set up a KoFi or something by end of year.
