rgv got flooded

i'm from the rio grande valley in texas, and holy shit we got flooded HORRIBLY.

 it was raining and thundering while i was in school and then everybody got the alert about a tornado and a flood. and while this was happening, i was in the front office at school, and my grandma was already on her way to pick me up. so i asked a teacher if i could leave, she said yes FOR SOME REASON??? and i walked out in the POURING RAIN AND I GOT DRENCHED and i went into my grandmas car and we were gonna drive until everything just went to shit. the car couldn't move and we were stuck in the parking lot and had no idea where to go. we were stuck for like 5 minutes and everyone, including my friends were stuck in the school meanwhile the rain stopped and i went to my grandmas house. i was drenched but my grandma was nice enough to let me borrow clothes and even offered to wash my other clothes (the ones that got wet) for me. thank you grandma. and soon at 5 i eventually went home and the storm kept coming and going.

i was really worried because at home, my dogs could've gotten injured during the flood and i was hoping that they were okay. once i got home i went to go check and, yes they were okay and they still are as i am writing this. 

this was a crazy situation, and probably will never happen again knowing how dry my area is.
