(hyper)sexualization

I've come to realize how sexual everything is nowadays, whether it's about a fictional character, a real person, or even a fucking object, it seems like the only opinion people can have about stuff is how they wish they could ride it, eat it or whatever the fuck. It's so repetitive it's boring.

It's not that im a prude, i have eyes, but it seems to me that everything revolves around sex and sexuality and to be honest i just don't get it!!! Never have, but that's besides the point. I used to think sex was going to be amazing and a life changer until i had it and realized it's just another part of life, nothing much. I don't understand why people are so obssesed with it. As an sa victim it makes me so uncomfortable, people have gotten used to saying the nastiest shit without a second thought. I try to avoid it but it's everywhere, i don't want to silence words related to it because there are some good discussions but i think i might just do it. I don't want people to bend to my will but i also want to open twitter in peace.

I get that it's fun to make jokes about it and whatever but when it's the only fucking punchline or the only thing they talk about non stop i just cant help but to side eye. It's especially jarring when the obsession comes from people who criticize hypersexualized female characters and gooner mentality but will do the same with men (yes i am talking about a great portion of the queer community), the hipocresy is out of the roof.

I want to understand, i really do, but man it's tiring to open a posts' comment section and the only thing people will comment is SEX, COCK, PUSSY, TITS, MAN TITS, TOP OR BOTTOM. Honestly... Get a hobby ‼️

But maybe it's always been this way and i've only realized now. Or maybe it's normal and i'm the odd one out. I dunno, i just think there are things way more interesting than just sex, which is not to say there's nothing to say about it, but to be fair the comments i've read don't really dig any deeper into it.

Please do tell me what y'all think about this, i would love to read other opinions!

Yes and no. This hyper sexualization is pretty common online because people click on it. In real life though? I don't think so. This is just how the internet has been.

It's like the clickbaiting of language. Where people will say 'I hate'. '_____ is the worst thing ever.' or the most annoying, '____ is problematic.'

Instead of just saying 'I don't like.' Or 'I disagree with.'

Also doesn't help that reading comprehension is pretty bad these days.

Fair enough. It's true that people's behaviour on the internet is different than real life, but even then i feel like sex obsession has become more normal (or more publicly shared) than it used to be. I just came back from grocery shopping and i saw a sex doll hanging from some wires on the street.

I made the blog post beacuse i saw some news about Luigi Mangione not being treated fairly compared to other political prisioners and the most common comment was "omg he's so hot i wish i could ride him", which considering the fact that he is facing potential death penalty is super insensitive (to me) and it annoys me how this gooner mentality takes away the focus from the real topic.

I do agree that reading comprehension is at an all time low considering the amount of resources we have.

(sorry for my bad english, it's not my first language lol)

oh yeah i agree. it has gotten a lot more acceptable generally. which is funny because people are having way less sex than they used to

lmao true, maybe that's why there's so much obsession for it, sex is overhyped, at least in my opinion. Btw thanks for your opinion! Really appreciated talking about this with someone else :)
