old internet things i miss

i happen to be one of many who grew up in the internet's.... i guess, puberty? of sorts? like we aren't kidding when we say the internet changed in quick flashes. could barely keep up with shit starting at the age of maybe 17~18. 

anyway, list of things i miss:

• profile customizations on different platforms
• deviantart at its peak and prime era
• niche forums
• flash games (god this one fr)
• tumblr as a platform for webcomics (that was actually a pretty cool time!)
• emulator rom sites (it was always a flip coin)
• browser customization (espc that one firefox tool)
• unregistered hypercam speedpaints
• collab art memes!!!! lost culture highkey
• facebook games (listen — actual gold right there)
• i hate to admit it but AMVs
• stamps/banners for profiles or forum signatures
• ngl,,, yahoo messenger,,, simpler times,,
• pokemon splicing (that was my crack fr)
• rpg maker games (i know there are more out there but the community is what i rly miss)
• utorrent as a staple (its past the point of fucked now)
• digital innovations actually feeling new and fresh, and not recycled slop
• generally speaking, internet maximalism bc i fw it
• TUMBLR OC ASK BLOGS !!! i had one at some point
• cartoon channel games

nothing special, but i wanna have a list to look back to every now and then when i remember this account exists. ofc, not imposing my list onto anyone. it's truly just my own preferences.
