Year of the Kate

Kate has landed 3 jobs in the past month. Incredible, right? Having been unemployed for so long that it almost became a personality trait, Kate has now fallen into not one, not two, but three forms of employment. 

And they're all good jobs too, one's a teaching assistant at an after school club (Kate has a way with kids) and she;s getting to teach them art while she's there. That's three times a week.

She already had the little media thing with my dad - where my dad's getting her to help film stuff for his new little business project. tbf that was a bit hit or miss becuase it was kind of just project to project, but still, it was defo something and more than anything a nice bullet point on a CV

and NOW she's landed this art shop/gallery management thing. The dream. She's gonna be curating artworks for this little spot that's like a cafe/bar and also an art shop in the same building. She says she's gonna try get my stuff in there. Thank you babygirl. My gratitude cannot be contained in a blog entry. It's wonderful, it's like, her fortunes increase so mine do too. Friendship. Incredible. She;s going up so she's gonna bring me with her. what could I have possibly done to deserve this?

She's genuinely inspiring me. If only you'd seen her this time last year. Dirt poor, you know? I was debating sending money over because I did have a job. Now I'm debating quitting my job to go find something that's actually gonna contribute to my life and the lives of others like how her jobs do.

She's moving, you know? She's backed out of her house for next year because she realised she can't continue living with the girls she'd re-signed with. She's doing shit - she's not just a sitting duck.
