I really need to get better at being active on here! anyway, I got married last year in april! It's already been nearly a year and I still can't believe it. My husband makes me so happy, and I'm grateful we got to have a small celebration after getting married at the courthouse. my best friends were there, and my late grandmother was there in spirit (and in my necklace) she met my now husband once, at my high school graduation, and she loved him so I do feel she would be very happy to know we got married.
I am trying to stop being on my phone so much, and trying to go back to the computer being the place to go on the internet. it's really hard, I'm trying to find a dumbphone that would work for me, and I've been downloading my music onto an ipod mini I got last year. I deleted most socials off my phone, and I might try making it 'dumb'- I just know myself and I'd do better with an actual dumbphone that cant connect to the internet.
anyone else wanna ditch their smartphones, or already have? any tips?

That’s awesome, congrats on almost a year of marriage! Sounds like you had a really special celebration.

And yeah, I totally get wanting to ditch the smartphone. I’ve been trying to use my computer more for the internet too—feels way more intentional that way. Haven’t switched to a dumbphone yet, but I’ve thought about it. Maybe something like a Light Phone or an older flip phone could work for you? How’s the iPod mini working out?
Thank you! The ipod mini is pretty great so far, I got mine from retrospekt so it has a lot of storage, like i have ~1,500 songs so far and its barely taken up any storage. my one issue is ofc its an older ipod so certain music files are too big and would crash it, so I'm sticking to mp3. also have to be aware of compression but i think ive figured it out.
I'm hoping to find something with a qwerty keyboard but im aware its few and far between, my husband did get me the barbie flip phone last year and I'm considering trying it as a main phone I just have a few issues switching at the moment, also im scared of the keyboard LMAO I had a few dumbphones from 2012-2017 but they all had the qwerty keyboard so I was spoiled and never used the flip phone style.

That iPod sounds dope, and 1,500 songs barely touching the storage is crazy. Sticking to MP3s makes sense though—gotta work with what it can handle.
I feel you on the QWERTY thing, I had one back in the day too and it was way easier than dealing with T9. The Barbie flip phone is cute as hell, but yeah, typing on that sounds like a nightmare lol. Maybe test it out for a bit and see if you can get used to it? Worst case, you swap back and keep looking for something better.
