February Goals

  1. Survive

February will be a super busy month with a potential trip to Korea, competition stuff, and a couple scholarship deadlines. Time should free up more once this passes but I have to lock in until I can relax a bit more

  2. Exercise/Running!

I spent a good chunk of January doing mostly light cardio and calisthenics but I want to start dedicating myself to a more consistent routine with better variety. Specifically I want to get better at running!!! Which I'm really bad at bc my last mile time was like...12+ minutes I think...I've been spending a lot of time exercising indoors but I want to stay more outdoors!! It's gonna be a bit difficult though because the sun still sets pretty early and its been really cold these days but I'm already used to walking at night so it shouldn't be?? that bad??? Idk. I should probably start with a simple goal for now though so maybe 4 min walking and 1 min jogging and I can alternate or smth...

  3. Weight loss

My eating routine still feels a bit wobbly from time to time so I have to find more stability with that. I think. And I know my initial goal was 2 lbs per week but I don't think I'll stick to it too much anymore because it was a bit stressful whenever I checked and I was 0.2 lbs or smth under the goal. I think a good rule of thumb?? would be just trying to lose 3 kg total throughout february which is a bit less than 7 lbs. I think setting the bar a teeny bit lower would be healthier for me and less stressful

  4. Get better at planning + following the plan

I do plan things still but I got really lazy with them recently. Like I plan and write some notes down on google calendar and just never check it during the day. Recently, I've been preferring having a physical todo list on a post it instead of following the one I have on notion. The big list I have on notion is just kinda overwhelming so I try to make a separate todo list for each day.

But the drawbacks of having a todo list instead of using google calendar is that I sometimes have trouble allocating my time to the tasks that need it and I end up not starting on a few tasks at all. I think it's important to "set" myself up for some tasks so that I can make a more balanced progress on everything I have to do.

The main reasons why I dont check google calendar even though I get notifications and stuff...:

1] I got so used to ignoring it lol...
2] I plan stuff but I'm tired or sleepy and dont want to do anything

    Solutions:

1] This will fix itself if I make it a habit out of following it. OR I can figure out a way to change the notification sounds maybe?? or find a google calendar alternative
2] FIX SLEEP SCHEDULE!!!!! Like this is the main thing that drawing back my stamina. I need to have a more routinized lifestyle to have more energy to do stuff. So more consistent exercise schedules, sleep schedules, eating schedules, etc. And this doesn't necessarily mean like do hardcore exercise, get 8+ hrs of sleep everyday, etc all day but setting realistic goals and focusing more on consistency

  5. SLEEP SCHEDULE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If I never fix this I think I will never completely fix everything else. Like getting bad sleep lowk fucks up my mood and energy for the rest of the day. I have to have to have to prioritize this and like take this more seriously. My goal for now is to wake up at 6 am on days I have ASB and 7 am on Wednesdays and weekends. Eventually I want to try easing into 5:30 am on days I have ASB.

Whenever I try to fix sleep schedules I always try to draw it back by 30 minutes but I never follow it, so I might try reducing the intervals to like 15 min. It's baby steps but I think if I don't water down the standards I'm not gonna lock in the habits.

If I want to wake up at 6 am and get a good amount of sleep, I have to be on bed between 10:00 ~ 10:15 a.m. But realistically I will probably be a bit over this limit, so If I set 10 ~ 10:15 as a goal I'll probably be in bed between 10:30~:10:40 which is like 15 or 25 minutes later. I need at least an hour before bedtime to shower, pack lunch, and do some cleaning so that means I should finish everything I have to by 9 p.m. to 9:15 p.m.

These days I usually get sleepy around 9:45 p.m.

I think for starters I'll try to finish everything before 9:30 p.m. for a few days, and then I'll bring it back 15 minutes to 9:15 p.m. once I feel comfortable

I also want to try to fit in some light exercise at night so I can sleep better!! Walking at night these days is kinda cold though but I also can't be too loud at home at night so maybe I can fit calisthenics here?? or like. I can just go walk. I just need to wear a thick jacket lol.

OVERALL PRIORITIES FOR FEBRUARY!!!!!!

  • SLEEP SCHEDULE!!!!
  • BEING A BETTER PLANNER AND FOLLOWER OF PLANNER!!! CONSISTENCY!!!!
  • DEVELOPING HABITS AND MINDSET!!!

I think January will be considered as the more difficult month compared to February once I look back, because I was busy with a bunch of college stuff, I was getting started with a lot of different habits like exercising, and I had to ease into school from winter break

I think the habits I really want have been primed well from January but I need to absolutely make sure that I take these habits with me at least till the end of March before I can really call it my lifestyle

So the most difficult stage is done, but the progress I make during this month will also be very very very important

I'm still at baby steps for a lot of different things but I think having solid foundations is super important in the long run!!!!!!! So i have to be patient, introspective, adaptive, and faithful
