Work's been a bitch and a half and it's never until the weekends that I start to realize that.
For context, I'm a garbage man. I do a bit of both driving and being on the back of the truck tipping bins. Regardless however, the company I work for is incredibly small for it's costumer base. On the up side, that means I get long ass hours and for 20 an hour, that means some great paychecks at the end of the week. Hadn't made less then 500 on each paycheck these last few weeks since I got the raise.
On the downside, when I crank out 11 hour shifts, I come home smelling like death and exhausted. End up sleeping more than I need to some nights and by the weekend my entire sleep schedule is thrown out the window. I end up either sleeping in on weekends or getting my sleep at some irregular ass hours, like falling asleep at 2 am and waking up at 9am. By Sunday, it's on some crack shot schedule that I have to go to work Monday with, typically without sleeping... which happens to be when most of my 11 hours come in.
Still, damn good money for what it's worth. Never made this much money before, so how can I complain about 2 grand a month?
Sucks it eats into my personal life though. Had to quit my friend's Monday DND campaigns cause if I could go, I was too tired to focus and I needed to be home by 9:30 if I were to get up at a decent hour the next day. Which, of course, we'd stay at the game store until they closed at 10 meaning I wasn't getting home until 11 cause I had to take half of us home.
That said, a weekend DND game wouldn't be bad at all. Sucks no one in that group could reschedule.
