poetry log: when i had sex with an angel

sex so good it makes you realise maybe god isn't some unkowable force in the world,

maybe god is the way you touch me and the way you linger a little too long on my neck.

and maybe angels don't really sing, maybe it sounds more like the way you say my name,

and maybe praying has never made sense because i was praying to god and not to you.

maybe religion is the way your tongue feels on my skin when you clean my sweat with spit,

maybe conviction is your steady rhythm against my hips,

and maybe heaven feels just like breathless kisses and nails down your back where your wings should be.
