Hello, gamers and non-gamers who might be interested. As a reminder, I main Cloak & Dagger and I am currently S1 Plat I and was S0 GM III. I've been primarily playing Susan Storm since her release over C&D and am trying to achieve Lord status on her before going back to prio-picking C&D. Here are my thoughts on her so far:
1. Healing is okay! Standard level healing for a Strategist (with the exception being Adam Warlock on his E CDs methinks). Really good at healing Vanguards back to full with shield if they stand next to a wall because of the bounce-back attribute of her projectiles. I'd probably top heals in every match if my accuracy wasn't so low LMAO. Typical C&D player unable to aim. However, the Damage Blocked section gets some significance because you can block 300 damage every 6 seconds from Guardian Shield if you let it break; that's pretty cool, I suppose, but I don't think anyone outside of Susan Storm players really cares.
2. Force Physics is really fun to use. It has a CD of about 10 seconds, I believe, but it starts counting down at 8 seconds (its thumbnail stays yellow as the animation on it finishes before showing the numbered CD) (your Psionic Vortex has a CD of about 12 seconds). Best usage for pulling in Vanguards into your team or pushing divers away from you or making people stay in your Psionic Vortex longer or pushing people off map/objectives. I've had some fun pushing Stranges away and them misfiring their Ultimates. It has a range longer than I expected, which lets you pull people off ledges even from afar. It's all right in the context of Mantis Sleep and Luna Freeze, but the spatial relocation is pretty sick.
3. Psionic Vortex is fun, because it reminds me of Cloak & Dagger's Daggerstorm but instead it does damage. I use it to make flyers and Punisher Turrets relocate. I use it to deal damage overall. I use it as Daggerstorm on accident sometimes, thinking it'll heal me. Pretty good. It doesn't do crazy damage, but maybe it would if my Left-Click accuracy was higher >_>
4. Veiled Step is okay. Just a utility. Gives decent movement both vertically and horizontally. Doesn't make you jump super high, so you're not really getting too far away from divers, you'd need to rely more on your passive and WASD movement to secure safety. 6 second cooldown that starts when you hit the ground means jumping to a higher platform will be the most efficient way to use it, so its CD starts ASAP. Don't make the mistake of immediately breaking your passive without any CDs because you'll have no way to save yourself, otherwise. Sometimes, I wait 6s after landing just to have this option available again if my other CDs are off (sorry Vanguards and Duelists my life is more important <3)
5. Guardian Shield is perfect. Cooldown on it ranges from 0-6 seconds, which is pretty good imo. It heals 50hp/s, I believe, which is 20hp/s lower than Rocket's currently (that's my only reference I don't actually know anyone else, but that number looks good in-game when I heal people so I think it's really high and good for something that could only be up for 1 second if the enemy team immediately breaks it). Overall, pretty good, methinks.
6. Covert Advance passive is decent. My only gripe with it is that the self-heal when you're invisible isn't as fast as I'd like it to be, so you won't really be utilizing it to heal from really low, but rather, it's more of a supplement when you take some AOE or few bits of damage. Not the most reliable way to build your HP up from 1. Good re-positioning device and to wait CDs on. You really gotta let your folks die almost/maybe so that you can guarantee that you'll live. Breaking out of stealth is a gamble if you're alone... like it always is, I suppose.
7. Invisible Boundary is okay. The healing isn't as much as Luna Snow's or Cloak & Dagger's -- that's a fact. Even if the numbers say so, it doesn't heal as much as their ults. I'm not sure about Mantis; I just know Mantis is easier to kill in her ult than it is to kill Luna in hers. It kinda makes sense why she heals less because of the Invisibility and Slow utility it provides. Duration is decent as well: shorter than I would like (8 seconds. Equivalent to Mantis ult but 2 seconds shorter than Luna ult).
Overall rating: 4/5. Projectile range/reach/traveltime, ultimate duration/healing per second are the only thing that I think makes her less viable to use than other healers. Survivability is decent because if you use your cooldowns wrong you're just gonna die (and passive healing isn't 100% reliable to keep you alive), but it is better than Luna Snow's because she only has her ice. I just learned to shoot at the ground to quickly heal tanks because your projectile would bounce back quicker. I might re-evaluate once I hit Lord status on her and/or when the season ends when a new set of Patch Notes might change how she plays.
