"COOL" Santas...

(Forewarning: I've never seen Red One, but I'm pretty sure it sucks)

Earlier today, I was watching tv, "the tube" as some may call it, when I arbitrarily decided to check out Netflix. After pressing the home button, and scrolling through options, I noticed Amazon Prime promoting "Red One", starring J.K. Simmons as the jolly man himself. My mind recalled all of the awful advertisements for this movie, specifically a trailer I had seen at a theater. This movie's version of Claus is depicted as 'cool' and 'epic', clearly trying to separate him from all the 'friendly' Santas over the years. The problem with this is most modern Christmas movies featuring him try to update him like this. You can look back at "Christmas Chronicles", "Rise of the Guardians", even my school hopped onto this years ago. When they invited 'Santa' to come visit little 1st-3rd graders, they introduced his two companions, Green Santa and Blue Santa. Blue Santa had been partners with law enforcement, and Green Santa was 'Recycle-Friendly' and great friends with the other Santas. This confused many of us, because other then those vague descriptions of what they contribute to the world? What did they do around Christmastime? Why must there be separate Santas for these attributes? That experience never left my head, and constantly reminds me of "Sonic Underground", due to their similar likenesses.odd cartoon

Sonic and Santa have similar philosophies and political opinions, so I imagine if they ever crossed paths with each other they would become friends. That's really all there is to say on the matter.
