game review thing, I just wanted to show off some neat gaems i found while scrolling htorugh itch.io
"god opens the door" - vvrymwood
- a surreal-horror game about flushing your mother down the toilet
content warnings: child abuse/neglect, blood, alchohol and death/murder
I really liked the art style and form of story telling, the enviroment and dialouge was interesting.
there were a few short pauses in the same dialouge that felt tedious, but that's mostly just my own pet peeve and probably isn't actually a big problem.
heart breaking story! It reminded me of the blue baby mirror game. The ending bit made me feel bad.
It's really good,,, makes me want to make an rpg game of my own,,, i wish.
"paper angel" - slitherbop
- you suddenly gain consciousness while taking care of "Spinwhim", your creator
content warnings: Eyestrain, Clusters, Reality Distortion
lovely visuals!!!! but very eyestrainy. reminds me of gekidan inu curry, especially the labrinyths in pmmm. I really love the muddy colouring and just how everything drawn.
I like how strange Spinwhim is, makes them interesting. I like their little relationship with their little apple, Spinwhim seems to be the type to adore each of his creations,,, i think.
I just found the creator's toyhouse. gonna be tweaking over these chaarcetrs ohhhghhds APPPELS APPLE
"HalOPE" - starbage
- exploration game with some puzzles about breaking cycles and becoming whole
content warnings: strong language, sensitive topics*, unsettling imagery, flashing images and stark changes in color.
3-4 hours of gameplay. honestly still haven't finished it. I didn't read the bit where it said that on the page,,, oops.
"ETCETERA" - slitherbop
- yume nikki fangame
,,,i never played yume nikki. I'm not sure if i should play this.
it, um, looks cool though. go play it yourself if you want, haha,,,
"Moko's advice" - Portrait Prophecies
- give advice to customers
I didn't play the othertwo. that's sad. so i threw in a 5th game to make up fopr it somehow.
I like the vibes, the customer's conclusions to the "advice" can be really bizarre.
fairly simple premise, there isn't much to do but it's still lovely. I like the weird shapes the customers come in.
